What is a sandwich bottom, and how is it different?

The Amaze cooker has a sandwich bottom — a thick, encapsulated base that bonds an aluminium core between layers of stainless steel. This is a step up from a plain single-layer steel cooker, and it sits between plain steel and full triply cookware. Here is how the three compare:

Construction How heat spreads Induction Best for
Plain single-layer steel Uneven — hot spots on the base Only if magnetic base Budget cooking
Sandwich bottom (Amaze) Even across the base; less scorching Yes Even-heat value for daily use
Triply (full 3-ply body) Even across base and walls Yes Premium, most even cooking

For a pressure cooker, where cooking happens mainly at the base, the sandwich bottom delivers most of the even-heat benefit at a friendlier price than full triply. If you want triply construction, see our Titanium Triply range.

    Inner-lid design

Amaze cookers use an inner lid that drops inside the rim and locks upward, sealing from within as pressure builds. Inner-lid cookers give a strong, secure seal and a compact shape that stores neatly. (Prefer an outer lid? Our Titanium Triply cookers use the traditional outer-lid design.)

    Which size should you buy?

Choose the 2 L for singles and couples, the 3 L for a small family's daily dal and rice, the 5 L for a family of five to six, and the 6.5 L for a large or joint family and bulk cooking.

    Material & food safety

The Amaze body is food-grade stainless steel — non-reactive, hygienic and rust-free, so it will not react with acidic sambar or tomato gravies or leach into food. Steel cleans easily and does not carry odours, and the sandwich base conducts heat efficiently for faster, more even cooking.

    Induction & gas

Every Amaze pressure cooker is induction-friendly and gas-compatible. The flat, heavy sandwich base makes full contact with an induction cooktop and sits stable on a gas burner.

    Warranty & care

Backed by VINOD Steel's product warranty, from a brand making stainless steel in India since 1962. Wash the body and lid with mild dish soap, dry the base, and check the gasket and safety valve regularly. Replace the rubber gasket when it hardens — genuine gaskets are in our spare parts collection. Fill only to the recommended level so steam builds safely.

    Frequently asked questions

What is a sandwich-bottom pressure cooker?
It has a thick, encapsulated base bonding an aluminium core between steel, so heat spreads evenly across the bottom and food is less likely to scorch than in a plain single-layer cooker.

Is sandwich bottom better than plain steel or triply?
Sandwich bottom gives even base heat — better than plain single-layer steel and, for a pressure cooker, close to triply where most cooking happens at the base. Full triply also spreads heat up the walls and is the premium option.

    What is the inner-lid design?
The lid seats inside the rim and locks upward, giving a secure seal and compact storage. Amaze cookers are inner-lid; Titanium Triply cookers are outer-lid.

Which Amaze size should I buy?
    2 L for 1–2 people, 3 L for 3–4, 5 L for 5–6, and 6.5 L for a large or joint family.

    Are Amaze cookers induction-friendly?
Yes. Every size works on both induction cooktops and LPG gas.

Is stainless steel better than aluminium for a cooker?
Yes. Steel is rust-free and non-reactive, so it does not react with acidic food or leach, making it healthier and longer-lasting.

Where do I get a replacement gasket?
Genuine gaskets for 2, 3 and 5 L cookers are in our spare parts collection.

    Is there a warranty?
Yes, backed by VINOD Steel's product warranty, from a brand trusted since 1962.
